April 30 event celebrates mechanical marvels, from vintage to contemporary
This Sunday, April 30, you can get up-close looks at more than 2,000 fantastic flying machines and vintage autos when theIt’s a dizzying array of mechanical marvels — vintage warbirds, model T fire trucks, antique tractors, tricked-out motorcycles and cars from every decade — along with children’s activities.
Among the highlights will be monster truck rides, unimotorcycle drag races, a special display of vintage police cars and — in a tribute to show founder Bob Senz — a synchronized firing up of all the engines of all the machines on display at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. That’s what they call the Big Cacklefest.
A new “Machines of Tomorrow” showcase will feature next-generation transportation – concept cars, flying cars, autonomous vehicles, EVs and more.10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Half Moon Bay Airport, 9850 N. Cabrillo Highway. Admission is $25 in advance or $30 at the gate for adults age 18-64, $15 in advance or $20 at the gate for ages 11-17 and 65-plus. Kids age 10 and under get in free with a paying adult. Proceeds benefit the Coastside Adult Day Health Center.
