The Dow Jones Industrial Average was trading near its low Monday, with investors shaking off early optimism around a possible U.S.-China trade agreement being forged. The Dow DJIA, -1.
05% was most recently off 290 points, or 1.1%, at 25,737, with the index shedding some 331 points to a low at 25,695. A drop for the Dow of greater than 302 points would represent the steepest decline since a 660-point slide on Jan. 3, according to FactSet data. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 index SPX, -0.77% was down 0.8% at 2,781, while the Nasdaq Composite Index COMP, -0.79% retreated 0.9% at 7,529.
