The number of declining stocks is outnumbering advancers 1,579 to 1,208 on the NYSE and 1,653 to 1,175 on the Nasdaq, while the volume of stocks losing ground represents 58.8% of total volume on the Big Board and 48.8% of total volume on the Nasdaq.
