“Fortunately, my producer Amy Zimmerman saw that Johnny had gotten up,” Brothers said, “so I was able to continue to my position. If he had stayed down, I might have had to go back to check on him.” At that point many of the riders were unaware of the loose horse, and the danger of an already-risky situation heightened when Bodexpress reversed direction.
