Dulce Maria Alavez was 5 years old when she disappeared from a New Jersey park.
during a family outing on Sept. 16, 2019. Trinidad is helping organize a birthday celebration this weekend in honor of the missing child.
The family arrived at the park shortly after 4 p.m. and Alavez Perez said she remained in the car with her sister, while Dulce and her brother, 3-year-old Manny, ran off to the playground about 30 yards away. Alavez Perez said she checked a scratch-off lottery ticket, while her younger sister remained in the vehicle to do homework.
Trinidad said she met up with Dulce’s mother recently and they spoke about the girl and other ways to bring attention to the case. Attendees for Dulce’s birthday gathering are invited to start arriving around 2:30 p.m. and the program will begin at 3 p.m. on Sunday. Based on interviews of people at the park the day Dulce disappeared, two witness descriptions emerged of a man who may have been in the area. Investigators believe they could be descriptions of the same person.
