By now, many baseball fans likely have seen the brief confrontation between Baltimore Orioles first baseman Chris Davis and manager Brandon Hyde on Wednesday night during a loss to the New York Yankees.
said Thursday that Davis has “three-plus remaining on his contract…[he’s owed] roughly $56 million in present-day salary….before the $42 million in deferred money even kicks in.” Right now, Davis is batting .182 with nine homers and 31 RBI. Plus, he's struck out 111 times in 247 at-bats already this season. This is the second consecutive season that he could play a full year and finish with a batting average under .200.
