Over the last couple of years, the New York Jets have made something of a killing on underrated rookie running backs breaking out late in the season. Last year, it was fourth-round pick Michael Carter bursting onto the scene with a big Week 8 performance in a win over the Cincinnati Bengals before his first 100-yard game eight weeks later.
But Robinson hasn’t been all New York hoped for as Hall’s replacement and was a healthy scratch on Sunday against the Bears, opening the door for Knight to see some action. Then when Carter went down with anearly in the second half, it pushed Knight into the lead-back role. He immediately started turning heads.
