One Earth-838 Illuminati actor suggests they could join the many Marvel alumni who are reprising their previous roles in the MCU against all odds.
Despite their character's death in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, one of the actors who played an Illuminati member suggests they can return in a future MCU release. Besides furthering Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch's MCU journeys, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness also took the chance to introduce and reintroduce some overlooked Marvel heroes in the form of Earth-838's Illuminati.
Yet, the Illuminati's deaths don't necessarily prevent a different version of the same characters from returning in the future, as suggested by Black Bolt actor Anson Mount. In an interview with Radio Times, Anson Mount was asked about his possible return as Black Bolt in an upcoming Marvel project. While Mount doesn't confirm or deny it, he does suggest the door is open for another MCU appearance.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT "If the answer was yes, I wouldn't be able to tell you - but the answer is no, so I can. I've had some informal conversations with the powers [at] Marvel and it's a conversation, but they've got their current phase that they need to do." With so many projects in the works and so many actors reprising their roles after initially departing them, it wouldn't be odd to see Anson Mount and other Inhumans actors reprise their roles thanks to the multiverse. Of course, recently introduced Avengers and other multiversal characters may have a higher priority earlier in the Multiverse Saga. But still, Black Bolt and the Inhumans could appear sooner rather than later.
Although less likely, there's also the possibility that the Inhumans already exist within the MCU's main universe. Marvel Studios changed Kamala Khan's origin and superpowers in Ms. Marvel, removing her Inhuman ties and tying her to the X-Men through her mutant genes, which suggests that the MCU will avoid the Inhumans altogether, at least for a long time.
