People are threatening to boycott the store
As energy prices and living costs continue to surge many shoppers are looking for cheaper alternatives, with many of us turning to own-brand items in supermarkets.
On social media, some shoppers were disgusted to find the price of ASDA's own-brand blocks of salted and unsalted butter. On the Scrimping on a Budget Facebook page, Yadda Yay shared a picture of the blocks of butter, which now cost £2.15 each, reports M.E.N.Captioning the post, the shopper wrote: "Madness." Many people agreed, and pointed out that the same item now costs less in Marks and Spencer.
Nicole Christie said: "Ironically if you have an m&s near you they are cheaper like £1.75 or something near there for stick butter."
