A rendering of the plans Sherwin-Williams have for a parking garage next to its new downtown Cleveland office tower.CLEVELAND, Ohio – Construction workers uncovered what turned out to be pig bones Tuesday at the site of the new Sherwin-Williams headquarters in downtown Cleveland, the company said.
The workers found the bones about 8:30 a.m. in an existing backfill along West 6th Street, a Sherwin-Williams spokeswoman said in a news release. The discovery prompted workers from Independence Excavating to delay construction as Cleveland police officers and the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene. The medical examiner’s office eventually determined the bones were from a pig, the release said.at the new site in January. The company plans to move into its new headquarters by the end of 2024.
The project includes a 36-story tower, five-story parking garage, two-story pavilion, and two above-ground walkways on nearly 7 acres of land west of Public Square, along portions of Superior Avenue and West 3rd Street.
