Manchester City beat Man United in the derby this weekend, but Ruben Dias believes his side must still improve to meet their own high expectations.
City have won back-to-back Premier League games and three in a row in all competitions after a run of three defeats in four recently to get their campaign back on track. Sunday saw them outplay Manchester United at Old Trafford to earn the local bragging rights, in a performance that has been hailed as one of their best in the derby away from home.
“l think generally in life the more you win the more successful you are and more and more people try to bring you down and look for flaws," he said. "We know it, we’ve done it before, and we know which way we have to go. We know what we set ourselves for and what the club sets itself for – we know what we are pursuing, and we know how difficult it is and how good we have to be every day, in training and in every game that comes up. The demand is high, but we are ready for it, and we want it. If you want to achieve great things, you need to be in a tough environment.
"I did think in certain moments that we gave too many easy balls away and gave them unnecessary opportunities," he admitted. "We controlled the game most of the time and those little moments where we lost easy balls – it’s one to look at going forward.
