Many Democrats aren’t immersed in the meat of Elizabeth Warren’s proposals but drawn to her vision for governing

“It’s just the idea that she’s thought all these things through. I think that just to have a plan is amazing,” Ms. Neukam said. Ms. Warren’s primary rivals have pounced on her plans as she has risen in Democratic polls. For months, Ms. Warren had declined to outline how she would pay for Medicare for All, which would eliminate private insurance and switch all Americans to a health system paid for by the government. “Your signature, senator, is to have a plan for everything except this,” South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg said during an October debate. After Ms. Warren released a proposal outlining $20.
Saloni Sharma, a spokeswoman for Ms. Warren, said: “This campaign is about calling out what’s broken, laying out a plan to fix it, and building a grass-roots movement to win in 2020—so we can make real change come January 2021.” Alexandria Green, 20, is a communications and international affairs major at the University of New Hampshire who plans to cast her first presidential ballot in November 2020. She supports Ms. Warren among the 16 Democrats running for the party’s nomination in large part because of the senator’s student-debt cancellation plan, though she admits she has “no idea” how it is supposed to work in practice. “I like the sound of it,” Ms. Green said.Ms.
