Despite a historic game by Taliah Scott, St. Johns Country Day lost to Faith Christian in the 2022-2023 FHSAA Class 2A girls basketball semifinals.
Orlando Faith Christian made sure that it wasn't quite enough.
Defeat ends the deepest-ever playoff run for St. Johns , which had never before won three playoff games in a season and last reached the final four in 1987. Faith Christian pulled away with an 8-0 run to end the first quarter, ignited by sophomore Holland Harris, and stretched the advantage to 21 points just before halftime.
