Eva Longoria has a sweet reunion with a former Desperate Housewives co-star at the premiere of her new movie. In her feature directorial debut, Longoria helms Flamin' Hot. The film, which is available on Disney+ and Hulu, is based on the memoir by Richard Montañez, who claims to have invented Flamin' Hot Cheetos. It is a continuation of Longoria's work behind the camera, as she's directed several television episodes over the years.
As revealed by The Hollywood Reporter, Longoria reunited with her former Desperate Housewives scene partner at the premiere of Flamin' Hot. Longoria and Metcalfe played Gabrielle and John in Desperate Housewives, respectively, and their characters were love interests early on in the series.
What Longoria & Metcalfe Have Said About Reviving Desperate Housewives Even though he shared that he hasn't heard anything concrete about a Desperate Housewives revival, Metcalfe mentioned that he would be willing to reprise the role of John if the opportunity came about. Metcalfe even suggested that he could play a parent of a younger cast member. For her part, while promoting Flamin' Hot, Longoria gave a more mixed response about the possibility of reviving the hit drama series.
Longoria mentioned that she would love to revive Desperate Housewives, adding that she missed the character of Gabby a lot. Still, even though she would be up for reprising her famous role, the actor and director doubts whether it would actually happen because series creator Marc Cherry isn't interested in a revival. In her thoughtful response, Longoria contemplates whether an updated version of the hit ABC show would actually have anything new to say.It could be for the best.
