Speaking with Tucker Carlson at the Family Leadership Summit in Iowa on Friday, the 2024 candidate contrasted himself with former President Donald Trump by saying he would have fired Fauci."I believe Article II of the Constitution means the president has the executive authority. We just say these bureaucrats somehow can't be held accountable. I disagree with that. I think you can fire him," said DeSantis.
The Florida governor has also used Fauci to attack Republican front-runner Donald Trump, criticizing him for hiring and allowing Fauci to operate throughout the pandemic.
