Ventes automobiles : l’année 2022 s’annonce pire que celle de la pandémie (2020)
En 2020, l’année correspondant à la pandémie, l’économie a littéralement fermé ses portes et les ventes automobiles ont connu une chute spectaculaire. En 2021, on a eu droit à un certain rebondissement, mais ce dernier n’a pas été aussi spectaculaire qu’attendu.
Or, pendant que les plus optimistes prévoyaient un certain retour à la normale en 2022, voilà que le problème d’approvisionnement est plus criant que jamais. Les constructeurs sont touchés à différents niveaux et le marché n’a jamais été aussi fou. Quant aux stocks automobiles, ils n’ont jamais été aussi bas.
C’est simple, les annonces concernant la réduction de la production ici et là sont légion par les temps qui courent à travers l’industrie. Depuis juin 2021, les ventes mensuelles s’établissent en moyenne à 1,1 million d’unités par mois. Dans ce contexte, « il est tout simplement impossible, compte tenu des dernières prévisions de production, d’atteindre les 15 millions d’unités d’ici la fin de l’année », a déclaré Jonathan Smoke, économiste en chef chez Cox Automotive.
