PICTURES: Relive the Hornets' memorable triumph over the Hatters with this gallery from yesterday's 4-0 victory WatfordFC

Watford fans headed into work with a big smile on their face this morning after a victory that will live long in the memory following the 4-0 demolition of Luton Town.

The Hornets had beaten their arch rivals at Vicarage Road by three goals in the past – the 5-2 win in 1983 was arguably the pick – but this was the first time in the history of the fixture they had triumphed by a four-goal margin at home. Keinan Davis got the hosts off to a flyer when he superbly flicked home Hassane Kamara’s third minute cross and an impressive first-half performance was rewarded with a second goal just before half-time when William Troost-Ekong capitalised on a well-worked corner routine.

Joao Pedro all but made the points safe when he lashed home the third after excellent pressing by Davis forced Ethan Horvath into a mistake, and the Hatters keeper was to be beaten for a fourth time when Ismaila Sarr curled in his fifth goal of the season.
