As temperatures continue to soar Wednesday, and expected to break records similarly to Tuesday, the Denver metro area will have a heat advisory and air quality alert for most of the day.
Denver has a high of 98 degrees, which, if met or surpassed, would break the previous record for the day of 95 degrees. The heat advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for temperatures that could cause heat-related illness, especially for anyone working or exercising outside during the heat of the day.
Area residents are advised to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room and out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors.
