Democrat Nan Whaley is pinning her campaign to unseat incumbent Republican Gov. Mike DeWine on one issue: abortion.
"I see it all the time on the ground across the state, enormous events in people's homes with standing-room only, mostly women that are engaged that I've never met before," Whaley told reporters after the luncheon."That's basically been the fuel that's put us through this whole campaign since June 24.
Instead, GOP lawmakers eliminated training requirements for concealed weapons, approved a"Stand your Ground" law and reduced training needed to arm teachers. DeWine signed each one − even though he promised Dayton residents he would"do something" about gun violence following a mass shooting there in 2019.
