There are 30-minute queues on the M6 while recovery work takes place - latest updates
Drivers have been facing disruption after crashes on two busy Greater Manchester motorways this morning. Queues tailed back for four miles on the M6 near Wigan following a crash on the southbound carriageway.
Two lanes of traffic were closed between junctions 24 at Ashton and 23 at Haydock. Bpth lanes have since reopened. A spokesperson for National Highways wrote on Twitter: "All lanes are now open on the M6 southbound between J24 and J23 following the earlier collision. Traffic is flowing freely."
