Water companies that knowingly discharge sewage into Britain’s waterways should face tougher criminal sanctions as the state of our rivers has reached a “critical” point, according to Dragons’ Den star DeborahMeaden 💧 SaveBritainsRivers
, Ms Meaden said that what has happened to many of the UK’s waterways is “disgraceful”, and she blamed the water industry for “underinvesting for 100 years”.
For years Ms Meaden has been using her platform on social media to call out water companies that discharge sewage. She toldshe believed the issue was now being taken seriously – but “being taken seriously doesn’t always lead to the correct level of action”.
