The head coaches had a disagreement before kick off and were both sent off after a flare-up between the benches in the second half
Stellini was visibly perplexed about being dismissed, but on that incident, he added: “I tried to be calm and focused on the game. I have to manage the bench and try to keep them calm but in that moment for me I was focused on the players and I lost my focus on the bench. This is the rule, I have to respect the rule but also if you look at what happened, I was polite and calm.”
Spurs took the lead through a spectacular finish from Son, the South Korean bringing up a ton on his 260th Premier League appearance. Son may be a scorer of a variety of goals, but the curler into the top corner from the edge of the box is his most spectacular signature move. The man with the camera celebration delivered a picture-perfect finish.
If Son is an established Premier League performer, Mitoma has been this season’s breakthrough act and he felt as though he had scored his eighth league goal of the campaign to equalise, only for it to be disallowed controversially for a handball. Brighton will argue that the contact was more shoulder than arm.
Brighton got their goal soon after, though. Solly March’s looping corner to the back post found Dunk who powered a header into the far corner. Cristian Romero was statuesque and Ivan Perisic lost under the flight of the ball as Dunk sprinted unmarked and unchallenged to score. A big flare up on the touchline involving the coaching teams results in De Zerbi and Stellini both being sent off 😳
