The former Motherwell star was limited for minutes under Ange Postecoglou's previous regime but he was handed a real confidence booster by getting a start in the Scottish Premiership opener against Ross County on flag day and repaid the faith of his manager by netting a double, including the first of the game from the penalty spot.

So, from his point of view that was a big confidence booster.
"So when you look at what he can add to the team, there are a lot of positives. I can see him having a really good season as long as he keeps his performance levels to a high standard." He added: "I think Kyogo Furuhashi is going to be the main candidate in terms of the golden boot. He's been nothing short of fantastic since he came to Celtic.
