Charlie Cox teases that DaredevilBornAgain will focus on more legal scenes than its Netflix predecessor. 'I'm heavily focused on researching that area of this character and his life.'
Star Charlie Cox reveals that Daredevil: Born Again will have more legal scenes and a bigger courtroom influence looming over the new show. Netflix's Daredevil series was the first place Cox appeared as the titular hero, which became one of the streamer's biggest series, spawning an entire universe of Marvel shows at Netflix with loose ties to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Daredevil was canceled after season 3 due to Marvel's choice of moving their characters over to Disney+.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY In an interview with GQ, Cox explained that Daredevil: Born Again will focus more on the legal aspect of Matt Murdock than the Netflix show did. According to Cox, the reason why the series will further explore Matt's role as a lawyer is due to the fact that Daredevil: Born Again received a whooping 18 episodes.
I think because of the number of episodes they've committed to, there'll be a heavy influence of courtroom stuff—Matt Murdock, the lawyer in the new show. So I'm heavily focused on researching that area of this character and his life. It was one of the areas we didn't do a huge amount of exploration around before. Even my accent is probably really rusty.
Daredevil: Born Again focusing more on Matt's role as a lawyer's both great for the show and for audiences. Every superhero show, especially one like Daredevil: Born Again with its 18 episodes, needs to balance the more expensive action scenes to produce with the cheaper, but still effective, character development moments that make the audience connect with the heroes on the screen.
