New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones will not play in Sunday night's primetime matchup against the Buffalo Bills because of a neck injury, coach Brian Daboll announced Friday.Jones' neck whipped back violently late in the Giants' 31-16 loss to the Miami Dolphins last Sunday. The 26-year-old has not practiced this week, instead doing rehab work inside the team facility, Daboll said.
Jones missed the final six games of that season with what has since been reported as a disk issue. The former Duke quarterback specified to reporters this week that he did not consider his current injury to be something that would keep him off the field long-term.'It feels different,' Jones said earlier this week. 'It's not the same injury.'Jones said Wednesday he was planning to play on Sunday night.
