Dallas County Appraisal District spokesperson Cheryl Jordan said Wednesday that property values are still increasing but that the market has slowed down a little bit.
“People are still moving to Texas; there’s still a need for housing here,” she said. “The market has slowed down, but the value hasn’t gone down.”that the median price of a home in the D-FW area was $410,000 — a 3.8% decrease compared with last year. Nolan said that, by industry standards, housing is still in short supply. The MetroTex Association of Realtors reported in June that the area had a housing inventory of about 3.2 months. Nolan said the goal is six months.

The appraisal district ran into major problems this year when a ransomware group shut down computers, its website and email. Nolan
