“It is so gratifying to be able to integrate work from the art fair into the museum and create an entry point for artists at all stages of their career, from all parts of the world,” Kelly Cornell, art fair director, said in a statement.
Artworks are from Chelsea Culprit, Uuriintuya Dagvasambuu, Karla Diaz, Michael Dumontier and Neil Farber, Riley Holloway, Yifan Jiang, Yowshien Kuo, Masamitsu Shigeta and Nishiki Sugawara-Beda. The DMA acquired the four-part seasonal series byMasamitsu Shigeta’s “Interior Flower” on display at the Dallas Art Fair at Fashion Industry Gallery on Thursday, April 20, 2023 in Dallas. “Interior Flower” is one of 12 pieces to be added to the Dallas Museum of Art’s permanent collection.
