Yes, sometimes corners get cut. The PE kit hasn’t been washed and maybe someone forgets to brush their teeth. But this exasperated mum took to Mumsnet to complain about the breakfast her husband had served up for their todder – and it really takes the biscuit.

Someone else commented: ‘He forgot the crisps and a can of Coke.’ Others pointed out that, as a one off, it wasn’t so bad.
