His fiancee has revealed the severity of his condition
A dad from Blackpool is fighting for his life in hospital after her was savagely attacked on the night of his stag do.
Lee's friend Paul Latham issued a statement on Facebook on behalf of Sara, explaining their version of events on Sunday, April 16 around 1:25am. Alongside the statement, Paul revealed a series of images from the day and night starting off with an image of Lee and Sara before the couple parted ways for their pre-wedding celebrations.
"20 minutes after he came out of theatre, having just endured a three hour life-saving brain operation. This resulted in him losing the front part of his skull as well as part of his brain to try and stop the two bleeds on his brain and to ease the pressure from the swelling caused by Lee having suffered a fractured skull at the hands of the parasite who sucker punched him.
The statement continues to read: "Lee is a long haul HGV driver, and should he survive, he will never be allowed to get behind the wheel of a truck again, due to the severity of the brain injury. "Everybody who knows Lee, knows he has the biggest smile in Blackpool. He’s always happy, always laughing always making new friends. Long may that continue but it will be some time before he is able to display his trademark smile on the Fylde Coast."
Police confirm a 33-year-old man from Blackpool was arrested later the same day on suspicion of wounding. He has since been bailed, pending further enquiries, until July 13.
