D-Day Veteran Reunites with Woman He Dated 75 Years Ago
In 1944 U.S. soldier K.T. Robbins met Jeannine Ganaye, according to France 24. He was stationed in northeastern France during World War II, but quickly had to leave her when he was assigned to the frontline.
The outlet surprised Robbins with the news that he would be seeing 92-year-old Ganaye again. Camera crews were there as the two, who are now widowed, had an emotional embrace at her retirement home in Briey, France, just 40 miles away from where they first met.“You never got out of my heart.”Ganaye told the news outlet in French that she “always thought about him” and thought that “maybe he was out there, that maybe he would come.
