The county’s Public Works Department, at council’s request, has identified $19.1 million in immediate investments it says are “required at (the) Justice Center complex” to keep the facility operational while the county figures out its next steps.

The Justice Center complex, which takes up a city block between St. Clair Avenue and Lakeside Avenue, includes a 25-story court tower, 10-story Jail 1, 11-story Jail 2 addition and nine-story Cleveland police headquarters.CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cuyahoga County Council, on Tuesday, is expected to deposit $53.6 million in federal stimulus dollars once promised to Cuyahoga County-Elect Chris Ronayne into a special fund for jail and courthouse expenses.

The county’s Public Works Department, at council’s request and to help inform the new administration, identified $19.1 million in immediate investments it says are “required at Justice Center complex” to keep the facility operational while the county figures out its next steps.
