Cupra tells us what it's all about with the new Tavascan SUV concept

So why such a delay? It’s possible that Cupra has to wait for its siblings to be released before launching its own take on the MEB crossover platform. The VW Group’s release schedule is as regular as the London Underground after all.When it’s released, the Cupra will once again offer a sportier, more premium spin on the EV crossover than its siblings. This is the Cupra way; just look at the appliance-like Volkswagen ID.3 compared to its Cupra Born sibling.
It’s an SUV, of course, because that’s a market forecast to grow by 15% a year. Cupra might be a sports-orientated brand – but that’s growth you can’t ignore. It’s also why we’re seeing more and more four-door crossovers, and SUV coupes that aren’t really coupes at all…The Tavascan is based on the MEB platform, which means there’s space for an electric motor on each axle. That brings total output to 225kW, or 302bhp in old money.
