The impeachment investigation of Gov. Andrew Cuomo is 'nearing completion,' New York State Assembly officials said, giving him eight days to provide evidence in his defense
Mr. Cuomo has repeatedly denied inappropriately touching anybody, and said he is cooperating with the federal investigation. He has said the state’s nursing home policies were crafted to preserve hospital capacity during the height of the pandemic and were in line with federal recommendations at the time.
Rich Azzopardi, a spokesman for the governor, said, “The Assembly has said it is doing a full and thorough review of the complaints and has offered the governor and his team an opportunity to present facts and their perspective. The governor appreciates the opportunity. We will be cooperating.”
