Crunch talks aimed at saving Oldham’s Coliseum theatre and protecting dozens of jobs have ended in stalemate but campaigners say the fight ‘isn’t over’.

This isn’t just about a building in one part of Greater Manchester, this is about a community and it is about the sustainability of our industry in the region.”
He said they would also be stepping up pressure on other arts organisations in the region to employ local actors. “It’s very, very clear to us that if a bid comes forward from the council that’s not a producing theatre that’s rooted in the community and that is engaging the same number of actors and backstage professionals, we are not going to be happy,” he added.
