CruelIntentions stars Sarah Michelle Gellar, Selma Blair, and Ryan Phillippe reunited for Gellar's birthday at an art show honoring the iconic 90s classic.
The Cruel Intentions cast, including Sarah Michelle Gellar, Selma Blair, and Ryan Phillippe, reunite for a movie exhibit in honor of the film. Cruel Intentions was released in 1999 and starred Phillippe, Gellar, and Blair, as well as Reese Witherspoon, Louise Fletcher, and Joshua Jackson. The film is centered on two step-siblings who make a bet to seduce the school headmaster's daughter , while simultaneously trying to ruin the reputation of another girl .
Since Cruel Intentions, the actors have gone on to a multitude of different projects. Gellar is best known for her role as Buffy in Buffy The Vampire Slayer, which ran for seven seasons. The actress has gravitated more to voice work over the years, most recently appearing in Masters of the Universe: Revelation as Teela. Blair starred in a number of films and TV shows, including Guillermo del Toro's Hellboy films and the raunchy comedy The Sweetest Thing.
Seeing the cast and crew together in celebration of each other and the movie itself reinforces Cruel Intentions as the 90s classic that it is. Gellar, Blair, Phillippe, and Witherspoon were in top form for the film and it served as a prelude to the great things to come from their respective careers. It's one of the most sleazy, silly, sexy, and downright fun teen dramas of the era, made all the better by the fact that it pulls no punches in owning all of those traits.
