Donald Trump is likely to focus attacks away from his GOP primary challengers during his keynote address at CPAC to instead target establishment Republicans seeking a break from the former president’s influence.
Trump is scheduled to close out the conference with a 90-minute speech on Saturday evening, addressing several of his staunchest supporters in what is considered to be one of the most highly anticipated events of the annual conservative gathering. His appearance marks the end of the three-day conference that featured a number of high-profile conservatives, including two candidates challenging Trump for the GOP nomination.
During his speech, Trump will focus attacks on establishment Republican leaders as part of his continual efforts to portray himself as a political outsider. Haley also took an unusual yet implicit dig at Trump during her speech on Friday, calling on voters to end the party’s losing streak by throwing their support behind her in the primary election.
