'The Covid-19 pandemic impacted a lot of people from an equalities perspective, and it had a disproportionate impact on women in many ways' MP calls for Covid inquiry to investigate impact on women’s reproductive and sexual health services
Charity MSI Reproductive Choices, which supports the APPG on Sexual and Reproductive Health, backs early medical abortion at home.
MSI Reproductive Choices said it would welcome the inquiring examining how women’s ability to engage with reproductive healthcare was affected by Covid. Dame Diana also views telemedicine as a positive development. But she said while there has been some progress on addressing the difficulties women and girls face acquiring services, significant challenges remain.
Ms McCudden said: “The Covid-19 pandemic impacted a lot of people from an equalities perspective, and it had a disproportionate impact on women in many ways. We would welcome any moves to look at the impact on women as part of the inquiry, especially women’s access to reproductive healthcare.”if it would look specifically at access to reproductive and sexual healthcare services.
