Covid cases in South Africa are falling again as the Omicron wave shows signs of subsiding There were 8,515 new Covid cases recorded in the country yesterday, down from 15,465 on Sunday and a decrease of 40% on the 13,992 cases recorded last Monday.

New confirmed cases surged in mid-November until last week, but the numbers of those hospitalised and dying have not followed the same upward trajectory.
