Scott Kirk and Elizabeth Montague are on trial following a rammy at Edinburgh’s Playhouse when 3000 people were attending the musical.
A couple assaulted theatre staff after a Jersey Boys show was halted following complaints about singing along, a court heard.
Staff said in-house security were sent to intervene and ask the duo to leave, but they allegedly refused to be ejected. Kirk denies attacking three of the male workers and acting in an aggressive manner. Montague denies assaulting two female employees and acting aggressively during the incident on January 28.
Paul said the woman had been refused service at the theatre bar during the interval as they thought she was “drunk” and “unsteady” on her feet. He said Kirk pushed him into a wall and the security team decided to move him from the auditorium to the bar area as he “struggled”. Kirk was restrained on the carpet face down, he added.
