Fans enjoyed an evening of good, honest humour on a cloudy autumn evening
The audience stood in admiration after they watched six wonderful characters strip off at the Liverpool Empire Theatre.
But it is more than that. At its heart are two couples Annie, played by EastEnders' Tanya Franks , and John, played by Colin R Campbell, and Chris, played by Coronation Street's Amy Robbins and Rod, played by Graham MacDuff.READ MORE: Best coffee shops in Liverpool according to Echo readers And she is allowed to shine brighter thanks to the wonderfully grounded performance of Tanya's Annie. Soap fans will already know Tanya can act, something that clearly comes naturally to her on the stage as well as the screen.
There are plenty of cheeky jokes and laugh-out-loud moments, which feel completely at home despite the dark subject matter, just as a proper Yorkshire woman would deal with the darker moments of life, giving the musical a warmth that I think will be a comfort to many.
