Six days after a 54-year-old man died, officials confirmed that he tested positive for the new coronavirus and hospital staff may have been exposed to the virus.that a male patient at Haborview Medical Center in Seattle, who died on February 26, was a presumptive positive case for COVID-19. The patient was transferred from the Life Care Center of Kirkland, where multiple people have tested positive, and admitted to the hospital on February 24.
Tuesday's announcement marks the seventh coronavirus death in the U.S., all of which have been in Washington state. Health officials confirmed two additional deaths on Tuesday, bringing the total number of deaths in the state to nine. King County has had 21 confirmed cases of the virus, including seven that were reported on Tuesday. Of the new cases, four were linked to the Life Care Center of Kirkland, a nursing and rehabilitation center, in King County.
