Coronation Street boss reveals 'huge' storyline for the ITV soap's teen cast Corrie
The upcoming plot is hoping to "shock a bit" and "provoke awkward conversations in front of the TV".
He said: "There’s a huge story we can tell with them right at the heart of it, very relatable and very teenage. We’re hoping it’s the kind of story that shocks a bit and provokes awkward conversations in front of the TV. "This story I think will encourage conversations you’d never normally have in that cross generational way because its tricky tonal territory. I’m pleased with it.
Soap fans will recall that the ITV soap has previously used its teenager cast for huge storylines and in 2021 the young stars were involved in the hard-hitting hate crime storyline, where Nina Lucas and Seb Franklin were brutally attacked with the latter tragically dying.
