Really, in totality, something like this: Semien and Seager combined to go 6 for 9 with a home run, three doubles, five runs scored and two RBIs in Saturday’s win. Texas’ first and second hitters in the lineup sparked a scoring frenzy that saw the team’s top five hitters combine for nine hits, five RBIs and 10 runs scored.
The Rangers’ lineup, of course, wasn’t exactly searching for answers with Seager sidelined. Texas averaged 6.29 runs per game without Seager; for reference, the Rangers have averaged an MLB-best 6.2 runs per game for the season. That all doesn’t include third baseman Josh Jung, April’s American League Rookie of the Month who hit fifth and scored a run, or catcher Jonah Heim, who’s in the midst of an All-Star-caliber season and got a day off Saturday.
