Backpack was seen next to van following Nottingham incident
Speaking at a conference for London Tech Week, the Labour leader, Keir Starmer, said: "I don't think we can start this session without acknowledging there has been a serious incident in Nottingham this morning.
"Information is still coming through but it's just been reported that three people have lost their lives so I'm sure I speak for everybody in this room when we say we'd like to just send our thoughts to all those affected and to the emergency services who are responding to this as we speak. "So we will go to tech, obviously, in just a moment, but I just think when there's something that serious happening in Nottingham, we just need to acknowledge it, as I say, send our thoughts to those that are affected and thank those that are responding to it, on behalf of all of us."
