The SpaceX rocket is launching from Vandenberg Space Force Base at 9:40 p.m. in mostly clear skies
The contrail of a Falcon 9 rocket might be visible from San Diego County Tuesday night when the vehicle lifts off from Vandenberg Space Force Base in central California.., carrying 15 Starlink satellites into low-earth orbit. Vandenberg is located about 280 miles northwest of San Diego.
The National Weather Service said that skies will be mostly clear across San Diego County on Tuesday night, including at the coast, where the marine layer isn’t expected to flow ashore until after 11 p.m.
