A jury found a 44-year-old homeless man guilty last week of second-degree murder in the 2019 stabbing of a disabled man, authorities said.
In a statement Monday by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office, a spokesman said the jury found Aaron Goode guilty in the July 5, 2019 killing of Pacheco resident Erick Ousey, 29, after an argument outside the California Grand Casino.from security footage and witness statements that Goode came “in an aggressive manner” at Ousey, who backed up before throwing an empty soda can at him, police said.
Roughly 15 minutes before the stabbing, which occurred at 12:15 p.m., witnesses overheard Goode say something about “disrespect” to Ousey, as the two argued in front of the California Grand Casino, which is across the street from the bowling alley. Those witnesses added that Goode allegedly hit Ousey several times, and Ousey struck Goode once, according to police. Soon after, Ousey collapsed in front of a bowling alley across from the casino, and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics.
