The former Tyrone All-Ireland winner signed a new two-year deal with Brisbane Lions earlier this week
Mattie McGleenan insists he didn’t expect to have Conor McKenna back playing for Eglish this weekend as they bid to topple near-neighbours Dungannon in the first round of the Tyrone SFC.

He wanted to get 100 caps and to win. “Realistically, I always felt when he took the one-year deal, he was going to turn up and perform this season and they’d sign him up for longer. They know the quality of the man he is and they’d be fools not to.”
“Michael is gone - he had to get a bit of work done on his hip. He tore the quadricep muscle on his hip. His season is over,” confirmed McGleenan. Dungannon won the 2020 title with a dramatic penalty shootout win over Trillick and have exited the last two Championships at the hands of the eventual winners, Dromore and Errigal Ciaran respectively.
