Congress demands answers from Google over the Nest microphone blunder
The Google-owned smart home company Nest has been getting it in the neck over the last week or so, over its lack of disclosure about a microphone that exists inside its Nest Security system, which wasn’t listed among the device's specs.
Is Google aware or has Google ever been aware of any third party using the Nest Secure microphone for any unauthorized purpose? When and how did Google become aware that a microphone was not listed on the Nest Secure’s technical specifications available to consumers? Please describe Google’s process for developing technical specifications for its products.
