Review: 'If Saturday night's concert at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena really was Elton John's last time performing in Jacksonville, he certainly went out on top.'
From the opening chords of"Bennie and the Jets," Elton had the crowd in the palm of his hands. He played in front of the largest video screen I've ever seen indoors and — give the guy credit — didn't shy away from the high-def closeups from the remote cameras posted on his piano that blew his face up to"Wizard of Oz" proportions.
The only time he showed his 75 years was when he'd step away from the piano between songs to greet the crowd and soak in the applause. It's almost like that piano is his personal Fountain of Youth.
