State legislators could help school districts address this disparity by tapping their unprecedented surplus this legislative session. They could elevate teachers’ salaries to be comparable to occupations of similar education and skill set.In school districts, we consider student enrollment projections to ensure each school’s staffing allocation is appropriate for the number of students expected, while safeguarding the continuation of all required campus responsibilities.
